I'm Anes, a Montreal software engineer. I spent years building large-scale systems at established technology companies, including IBM, and shipped dozens of independent projects alongside that work.
Five Square Design is how I bring that craft to founders and operators who don't have an in-house engineering team. You work directly with me from the first conversation through to launch, and you keep everything we build together.

Our mission
Most studios sell you a team and hand you a junior. We do the opposite: one senior engineer, working directly with you, for the whole project. That keeps the decisions honest, the timeline real, and the price fixed. It also means we take fewer projects, and finish the ones we take.

How we work
Plain language, always
You should be able to explain what we are building to your own team. If an explanation needs jargon, we have not finished thinking about it.
Ship small, ship early
A first release that does one thing well beats a six-month build nobody has used. Real feedback decides what comes second.
You own everything
Code, accounts, domain, and data, handed over documented. Staying with us should be a choice, never a dependency.
Honest scoping
If your idea does not need an app, we will say so. Talking a client out of a build has cost us work and won us referrals.
