Built in Montreal
We built KernelAI to run 49 open AI models entirely on an iPhone, with no account and no subscription.
Every model runs on the device itself, so conversations never leave the phone. It is on the App Store now, with a Mac companion alongside it.
See the work
You own the code, the accounts, and the data. Everything is documented in plain language so another engineer can pick it up without calling us first.
The engineer on your first call is the one who writes the code and ships the release. No account manager in between, no handoff to a team you never met.
What we build
Four kinds of product, all built the same way: scoped small, shipped early, and improved with real use.
iOS and Android apps, built once and released to both stores. Offline support, push notifications, and App Store submission handled.
Booking systems, member portals, dashboards, and marketplaces. The product your business runs on, not a page about it.
Clear, mobile-friendly sites that make services, products, and the next step easy to find. Payments, catalogues, and editable content can be included where the business needs them.
Internal tools, quote systems, and integrations that replace the spreadsheet everyone is quietly working around.
Selected work
Websites, apps, and operational tools designed and shipped for real businesses.
How it works
Four stages, each ending in something you can look at and decide on. No stage starts before you have approved the one before it.
Step 01
Fifteen minutes, no technical brief needed. We work out who the product is for, what they need to accomplish, and what success looks like. You leave with a clear answer on whether we are a fit.
Step 02
We decide together what the first release must include and what can wait. You get a prototype to click through, a written scope, and a price before any code is written.
Step 03
We design and develop in short cycles and show you working software as it lands. Every decision gets explained in plain language, so you always know what you are approving.
Step 04
We handle the release, the App Store submission, and the first weeks of live use. Then we use what real users do to decide what gets built next.

FAQs
Anything not covered here, ask on the call. It is free and there is no obligation at the end of it.
Yes, and that is the usual starting point. Bring the problem and who has it. Working out what to build, and what to leave out of the first release, is the first stage of the work.
It depends on scope, so you get a fixed estimate before any code is written. A focused first release typically lands in the low five figures; a marketing site is considerably less. Nothing starts until you have approved the number.
A first release usually takes six to twelve weeks depending on scope. You see working software long before that, in short cycles, rather than waiting for one big reveal at the end.
Anes does. Five Square Design is deliberately one engineer, so the person on your first call is the person who builds and ships. There is no sales handoff and no team you never met.
Completely. The code, the accounts, the domain, and the data are all yours, handed over documented. You are never locked into us to keep the product running.
Yes. Calls, documents, and the product itself can be in English or French. We are based in Montreal and work in both every week.
Tell us what you want customers or users to be able to do. We will use the first conversation to understand the project and outline a sensible next step.
